For almost a year have Krush done their thing at various venues across London, bringing du jour names and a healthy dose of arty installations, they have provided something a little different for the more discerning clubber. Tonight is no different with a special back-to-back showcase from Romanian stars Petre Inspirescu and Praslea.

The setting for tonight is Hackney Downs Studios, a raw venue that takes in 80,000 sq ft of post-industrial warehouse space. Upon arrival at just before midnight the place is already packed out with a good-looking selection of people who aren’t afraid to start showing off their moves even at this early hour. It’s no wonder really, as the warm-up sounds of respected resident Nikos are right on point – house and tech that never raises its BPM too much, instead weaving warm grooves with the odd vocal and teasing nicely before the main act.  Tracks from new school stars like Clockwork andLife and Death sound great on the sound system, burrowing deep into ever corner of the club without losing any fidelity.

It’s a cosy scene as you look around, with some stunning art installations and a large vintage lamp adorning the spaces round the edge of the dancefloor – clubbing experiences with as much attention to detail as this are rare in London – something not lost on the discerning punters.  Something also appreciated by those 'pon the floor' as we make our way around is that the venue is not too hot and sweaty, and nor are the queues at the bar off-puttingly long… a rare treat, to be sure.

And so to the main headliners, Romanians Petre Inspirescu and Praslea who take up their position behind the decks, playing a few records each before letting the other take over. Though focusing intently on the job at hand, the pair seems to enjoy themselves, feeding off the wooping crowd whenever they get chance. The sounds they favour are of a techno bent – steely, powerful and groove ridden. It’s a tightly woven soundtrack, which digs deep into various scenes without ever pulling out too many hits; needless to say the punters are going wild for it.

Just shy of turning one year old and with some great line-ups ahead – including an exclusive performance from Detroit don Omar S – Krush has already established itself as a real player on the London party scene: if you haven't discovered yet, it’s time you familiarised yourself before everyone makes fun of you for missing out.
