We've loved The Nextmen ever since they released their superb debut album Amongst The Madness back in '00 - an inspiring collection of super-phat hip-hop beats the blended classic US stylings with their own UK take on things to awesome effect. Their third effort, This Was Supposed To Be The Future, was one of the highlights of last year - a gorgeous summery blend of hip-hop, soul, reggae and ragga with fantastic vocals courtesy of people like Dynamite MC.
That's only half the story though. When they're not producing some of the sickest beats this side of Dr. Dre's house, they are block-rocking all over the world with their eclectic DJ sets, guaranteed to get a party rocking. Rap, reggae, rock, funk, soul, disco, electro, dubstep, drum 'n' bass, bootlegs and anything else with a chunky b-line get thrown into the mix.
In anticipation of their set in our Fingerlickin' & Data Transmission tent at Get Loaded In The Park this weekend, we let them loose on the DT Podcast, letting them play a selection of their current faves across the genres in a radio/mixtape stylee. No tracklisting - they're on hand all the way through to introduce the beats! It's a Nextmen TAKEOVER!
