We knew you’d all be feeling a bit fragile on New Year’s Day, so we prepared something very special for you. We asked fully-qualified professor of electronic music Tom Middleton to go into his lab and craft a mix out of his favourite downtempo and chillout classics from the last decade, to create the perfect aural hangover/comedown tonic to soothe your weary brain. It’s magnificent, and makes for the perfect start to the year. If you’re feeling a little fragile, put this on, run yourself a bath, and rack up a line of Horlicks…sorry, I mean make yourself a hot mug of Horlicks…

What¹s your personal favourite track on it?
At the moment it's One Divided Soul’s Of…heart-achingly beautiful track that has recently been used in a film about the mysterious disappearance at sea of the Dutch Artist Bas Jan Ader.
 
What¹s the special ingredient in this mix?
It's love...love of sharing beautiful music and the pure love in the music productions. If you don't feel the tingle..,you must be numb!
 
What¹s the best gig you¹ve played recently?
The atmosphere at Basic NYC is fantastic and such a friendly and open-minded crowd.
 
What have you got coming up?
Remixes of Stereophonics, The Noisettes and Music Go Music, lots of quality deep house, and some dancefloor destroyers too. Plus watch out for Lifetracks 2 album…coming to a high street retailer you might not expect in a new format..
