Mmm…a real Autumn warmer for y’all this week. Nick Warren (one half of Way Out West and boss of Hope Recordings) has been doing his thing for ages now, regularly playing at London’s bastion of prog The Gallery, and churning out several classic mixes for the long-running Global Underground series as well as creating timeless anthems for a good 14 years as half of the aforementioned WOW with Jody Wisternoff. Think you’ve heard all his shtick before right? Wrong!
He’s put together a sumptuous mix of nu-disco and Balearic flavours for us, perfect for Ibizan closing party sunshine (fingers crossed) or to keep you warm when the rain’s lashing at your windows back in the UK. It’s groovy, sexy, warm, gorgeous music that bridges the gaps between mellow electronic 4/4 and organic textures effortlessly. And we bloody love it! We think you’ll be playing this one for years to come.
Enjoy this beautiful mix – and fear not, the banging stuff will be back next week…
What’s your personal favourite track on it? Woolfy's forgiveness mix of
Things Are Gonna Get Easier by Low Motion Disco on Eskimo Records.
What’s the special ingredient in this mix? It's just the chance to do something different. All my best clubbing tracks are on the new
Global Underground: Lima, so I wanted to do something between the chill out stuff I do a lot of and the club stuff I'm known for.
What’s the best gig you’ve played recently? Definitely the show in Lima where we recorded the GU. Sounds like a plug but isn't actually, it was just an amazing party.
What have you got coming up? The new GU compilation of course, and our latest Way Out West single
Spaceman came out in August with a hot Robert Babicz remix, on Hope Recordings.
