Formerly a progressive trance DJ, then a prog meets psy trance meets electro house fusionist, Germany’s D-Nox now has both feet firmly rooted in techno. Best known for huge genre-blending tracks with erstwhile production partner Beckers like Switch, Jetlag Slave and Seven Hours and Memory Cell with Amo & Naves, 2008 has seen him take a change of direction – as witnessed in this sexy bitch of a podcast. He’s regularly playing to up to 20,000 in countries as far as India and Brazil, and although his profile as a DJ isn’t huge in the UK, new releases on Systematic and Audio Therapy are sure to see more tech-heads in these parts sit up and take notice. Sum up this podcast in 10 words... A safari thru wild & tribalistic sounds in a pimped Land Rover! What’s your personal favourite track on it? Love them all. But the one I´ve played in all my sets during the last few weeks is the Paul Ritch – Crazy Madness (Luca Bacchetti Remix). And the other one I love is the Astronivo feat. DJ Zombi – Anything You Want. What’s the special ingredient in this mix? This time I didn't use salt and pepper. My main ingredient are tribal sounds without sounding to Spanish tribal alike (which was the death of tribal 2 years ago) and hypnotic and endless mixes. What’s the best gig you’ve played recently? My birthday party in Lisbon on Dec 5th. I played 7,5 hours set and all was just amazing and just in the way a party has to be. I wish every gig would be like this one. The right people, a function sound PA, a wicked location and open end. Thanks Lisbon for that! What have you got coming up? We have just released a few singles as there are Son Of A Pitch on Marc Romboy’s label Systematic and another one on my label Sprout called Beefcake. I think currently there is suppose to be another release of us on Audio Therapy which we did in collaboration with Gabe & V.O.R. from Sao Paulo called No Chaos No Pain. Beside this we did some remixes for artist like Infusion or Eric Entrena. And finally, do you have a special message for our readers? Don't fart in non smoking clubs!
