Reso stunned us recently with his forward-thinking Heavy Arms EP, pushing the boundaries of dubstep with his futuristic, innovative sound. Elements of garage, 8-bit electro, breaks and more all mash-up within the EP to make for a seriously fierce sound – and this podcast is no different, skipping through styles effortlessly.
The 25-year-old has been getting much love from Radio 1’s Mary Anne Hobbs for almost 3 years now, and has scored serious acclaim for his remixes for the likes of Buraka Som Sistema and Jamie Woon. With a debut album promised, it’s a very exciting time for him, and we think he’s one of the scene’s most exciting producers. Lap this up and crank it up loud.
Sum up this podcast in 10 words...
My favourite dubstep: deep techy dubby start, face smashing finish.
What's your personal favourite track on it?
LFO by Kiko - messes with me everytime, H E A V Y
What's the special ingredient in this mix?
Black pudding and mushroom sandwiches, bass, bass and robots.
What's the best gig you've played recently?
Glade - It went off - maybe that Bestival or Glastonbury, Love festival crowds - they get stuck right in. I'm just back from a tour in Australia which was (Cue Aussie accent) "fucking heaps good"
What have you got coming up?
I got my new Temjin EP coming on Civil Music, 2x12" double pack I think! Otacon is gonna see wax on there, will be a taste of things to come and still tear your arse off like Beasts and If Ya Can't Beat Em. I'm well excited about it! Remix-wise i've got Foamo's War Dance, Drop The Lime and Crookers remixes all on the way soon and I'm gigging all over the country through October and beyond. Then I’ll be warming me toes in the studio finishing my album which set for early 2010 on Civil. I’ve been squirreling away some very special tracks already...you've been warned!
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Dr Manhattan's massive blue wanger.
