HUGO TALKS ABOUT FATE @ EGG on SATURDAY AUGUST 28TH

How are you?

I am really fine thanks and ready to enjoy London's mood.

So, how did you get into DJ’ing/Producing Dance Music? Why this particular genre?

Well everything started since a was really young. I've been playing as a guitarist in a acid jazz band and right after I decided to dedicate myself to music 24/7. Electronic music is the most modern develpment of jazz music in some way. Starting producing electronic music was something really natural for me.

How did you come up with your DJ name? What is the story behind it?

During my carreer I used many different artist name. They were always thought in relationship to the project and the path I was beginning. Hugo was born when I realised that my producion were going on towards dance music. Hugo is an old German name meaning soul or mind. My music is somewhere in between soul and mind.

When was that moment that you stopped and realised, hey I’m a DJ!?
When I discovered that people in front of me were having the same fun I am having everytime I play all around the world. I think that Djing is a great way and to test my productions to get in touch with people's feelings about them. I love to party and I love party people.

What is your proudest moment so far?
Transforming my biggest dream into reality. Make music.

What have your movements been recently?
I have been playing in Australia recently and it was really great. This year Miami Music Conference and Brasil tour were really interesting. I met a lot of producers especially in Brasil that is actually one of the most interesting scene for electronic music and it is growing rapidly.

What have you got lined up for us in the future?
I am working hard on my newborn label Goodvibe Records. Next months will be all about release parties and promotional activities. We have planned 5 releases starting from the 16th of August with the release of “The Bright Side” produced, mixed and mastered by myself in my new headquarter “Nipple Slip Studio” in Turin, Italy.

What has been the highlight for you so far in 2010?
The official launching of Goodvibe Records. A project on which I am working since a long time.

What other artists are you really noticing at the moment and why?
There are a lot of good producers around. Seth Troxler and Nicols Jaar are doing great things. I am actually working on a new project with Pleasurekraft. I think that after the success of Tarantula released by Edu Imbernon (another great talent) on his label, this is going to be their year.
