Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, is putting the finishing touches to another concept record, following on from his The BPA project – this time called Here Lies Love.
It’s about the life of Imelda Marcos, the former Philippines First Lady who along with her husband, former president Ferdinand Marcos, were charged with plundering their nation’s economy between 1968 and 1986, before being overthrown by a revolt and fleeing to Hawaii. She then sold a load of shoes.

The project features the likes of David Byrne, Martha Wainwright, Santigold, Tori Amos and Cyndi Lauper, and was originally intended to be a musical – but Cook and Byrne decided to turn it into an album too.

"Each track is sung by a different singer and there's some very interesting guests on there," he told BBC 6 Music. "It's a story-telling thing, like 'Evita', but coming at it from a different angle in that it tells the untold story that people didn't know about Imelda Marcos. It's not just about the shoes."

He continued, talking about legendary New York club Studio 54 – the connection to which we aren’t quite sure of "Because the story is more about what was going on in Studio 54 rather than what went on in the Philippines, we wanted to reflect that, so it's kind of dance music based,"

So it’s kind of a new Fatboy Slim dance-ish album, but not as we know it.
