“I've always listened to and have been influenced by a lot of different stuff and I think it's sad that the scene is so divided these days." laments John "Quivver" Graham, speaking ahead of the July release of his long over-due debut album Dirty Nails & Vapour Trails. "It's like there's a new genre every other week and people jump on that bandwagon until the next one comes along and forget where they came from. I also wanted the album to be something people could really listen to and that would still be relevant in a few years so I didn't want to do a bunch of 4 to the floor bangin' club tracks - that's what mix comps are for”
As well as his long-running Quivver moniker, John Graham has also been a member of acts like Tilt, Space Manoeuvres, and recorded under other well-known aliases like Stoneproof, and earlier on Skanna (the name he used for early '90s hardcore D&B stylings). He's been behind some of the biggest - and most enduring - progressive house and trance anthems ever, from Stage One to Invisible to the monstrous Everything's Not You.
Now, fresh off a recent move from his native UK to Los Angeles, Graham resurfaces with this debut album, which brings together the worlds of progressive house, drum n’ bass, breaks, chill out and much more. He's done all the vocal preformances on the album, after having sung for Hybrid and Planet Funk in recent years. It's already been getting big props from Sasha and Pete Tong, so is likely to be a winner.
The album is out on July 7th on his own Boz Boz label.
