Poland’s Krzysztof Pretkiewicz, better known to the world as trance sensation N20, is no laughing matter in spite of his moniker. With a string of quality productions and remixes already under his belt, the future’s very bright for Poznan’s finest.
Aurora starts off with a bustling bassline and kicking beats, some squelchy background sounds are soon overtaken by a twinkling little riff that bursts into life. Extra rich, melodic layers add to the cosmic soundscape, with a subtle keyboard sequence joining the shimmering lead riff. This is atmospheric, cheese-free instrumental trance at its best.
Hungarian Sunny Lax returns the favour, after Nitrous remixed his last outing Reborn, and takes things on a proggier path by dropping the tempo. He brings in a new bouncier percussion and introduces the largely unaltered main riff much earlier, while there’s a few new effects thrown in such as a little pan pipe solo that doesn’t really belong.
