Dylan Rhymes vs Blende - Stars

Put simply, the sound of Dylan Rhymes and Blende attempting to knock seven electro-breaks bells out of one another. Featuring massive electro stings swerving from left to right and back again, slathered in house-y dancefloor pump and dictated by snotty pop-bitch vocals from Oddisi, it’s persuasive in a wicked, dance-or-die way. Amidst the battery of bulges and bruisings remixed by Koma & Bones, lo and behold - a searching sensibility that turns the vocal into something a little more yearning when backed by roaming, sense-hitting synths. This almost acts as a counterbalance to the comprehensive overhauls that, in their mood of scorning pleasantries, are pretty much unrecognisable from the source. Like Jelo’s turn, flexing barbed teeth and a throaty roar, instilling the original’s direct, shit-kicking dancefloor crunch. Baobinga & ID get a little more heavy-footed, slowing down the pace a jot to tease the darkness out of the original with snippy, twitchy synths looping the track into an ascending panic. A smothering breakdown ups the fear factor before the track scampers along with trepidation, likened to where the drugs you’ve taken for highs have suddenly taken a turn for the worse. For those who love the push and shove under the glitterball’s gaze, consider your socks completely knocked off.
