Kevin Griffiths - Jah

On Four:Twenty’s latest EP Jah, Tsuba label boss Kevin Griffiths collaborates with two very talented producers Simon Baker and Okain.

Griffiths’ very own Jah kicks start his debut single on Four:Twenty with a warm groove composed of a rolling bassline and tropical housey beats. It also has snippets of vox enriching the depth of the track.
British producer Simon Baker then tunes the mood a bit deeper in his retake of Jah. Driven by tribal drums and more FX twisted vox, this affair has a psychedelic flavour which replaces the warmer and more laid-back mood of the original mix.

The dub mix of Jah by Griffiths and French producer Okain again pushes the original mix to a darker direction, as the snappy snares and more driving bassline give this remix a more techy feeling.

The finale Cubaquest by Griffiths and Okain is the most techy track in the EP. Built around a clinical tech house rhythm which drives the affair consistently, it features stabby and heavily FX twisted vox that delivers a dark and hypnotic groove for the track.

A well-crafted four-tracker, this EP is rather DJ-friendly, especially for those who are inclined to the more housey side of things.
