Ada - Lovestoned (Gui Boratto & Gluteus Maximus Remixes)

A highlight of Kompakt’s recent Kompakt 10 album, Ada’s Lovestoned from last August gets a fine pair of remixes here. Gui Boratto is on typically superb form, lacing the gorgeous vocal snippet from The Supremes into a shimmering trancey soundscape, full of sidechaining synths, twinkling chime sounds and low slung, driving bass. It’s full of the dreamy melancholy we’ve come to expect from him, crisp production aesthetic and downright sensual sexiness that oozes out of his work. Absolutely gorgeous.
Gluteus Maximus goes for a deeper, more hypnotic version – with monotone bass plodding along under hazy synth chords and minimal techno percussive elements bubbling away. Nice again, but Boratto’s version is unbeatable.
