When someone says ‘Swiss exports’, most people would think of watches, utility knives and maybe Nazi loot! But with this guy working the studio and decks in the way that he does, that could all be set to change…
Miramare's ethnic drum sounds and rhythms, intriguing vocal samples and cool pads should be enough to make a monster track. Sadly, the arrangement and composition of these useful elements is weak. There is not enough stereo space to allow each element to really come out and the result is dull.
Irapinia has rolling, pounding, deep and hypnotic drums - what more do you need from a track? Add in some super-cool and trippy vocals, airy pads, mini breakdowns and clever climaxes and you have everything you need for a killer track.
Massimo De Lina's Remix of Irapinia is desperately weak and incoherent in contrast to the original mix. This version never really gets going and falls foul of trying to do too much. The complex combination of elements simply makes for a melee of musical messages and is sorely missing the focus, direction and cohesion of the original.
