Greg Downey - Show Time

Whenever a Downey single hits the shelves, it instantly becomes one of the hottest tracks of the moment. Starting off in traditional style, Greg begins things with a solid kick drum and driving, slowly approaching percs. Trippy FX riffs/stabs add as nice fills as the track picks up pace. A rolling bassline and plucks soon appear, gradually backed by piano fills and soft pads as the breakdown approaches. Strings emerge during the break, painting a very heartbroken, emotional atmosphere while the piano plays dramatically. The Downey saw chords soon filter their way in and the track begins to build up. A big snare and kick roll sweep us up and into the driving, nostalgic chorus. The theme is effective but the lead doesn't grab me the way that the theme in Global Code had. A good effort overall, worthy of the Reset label.

Solid production, awesome FX and the breakdown are key highlights. I did enjoy the theme but again the nostalgia may not be a selling point for some.
