A.R.D.I. - Nine & Six EP

Newcastle-based Neuroscience imprint’s sub-label, É Musica’s mission is to provide an outlet for up and coming new talent...and that’s fulfilled perfectly by A.R.D.I.’s blistering bow.

The precocious Pole gets right into it with the excellent Illusion Wave brimming with energy right from the off. Using a snarling kick and surging charged bassline, this no holds barred approach sets the tempo early, before a tight melody, that’s a bit melancholy, gets an airing. The break sees a simple piano sequence take over before the lead synths are cranked back up.

The B-side, Flying, is equally as good, featuring the talents of another newcomer Bastian Salbart. Set at a slightly lower tempo, but still using a solid kick as its foundations, the amazing floating melodies are unleashed at around the 40 second mark and take things on a lovely deep journey. Some secondary synths add an extra dimension but attention is firmly on the wave like lead melody. At the break it gets a bit more classical sounding, until the triumphant riff roars back in. This is what good trance music is all about.
