Abe Duque - Following My Heart/Disco Nights

The Following My Heart/Disco Nights EP sees two tracks by New York-based artist Abe Duque get their remix treatment by two prominent names in the house and techno scene, namely Oliver Huntemann and Jay Haze.

Taken from the album Don’t Be So Mean by Duque, Following My Heart (feat. Virginia) is re-imagined by the dark and edgy touch of Huntemann, with the precise interweaving of the throbbing bass, clinical tech percussions and creepy vocal part by Duque constructing a hollow and sinister technoid soundscape. The rattling and explosive FX ambushes are also highly effective, making it a potent weapon for the big room.

On Haze’s remix of Disco Nights the mellow vocals by Blake Baxter couple with the catchy yet a bit eerie melodies on top of the pulsating bass, unrelenting cymbals and dreamy synth background, rendering a dark, sexy and groovy vibe that can fit well into both house and techno sets.

Coherent and chic, this EP is a brilliant finale for the remixes series of the Don’t Be So Mean album indeed.
