With its glowing keys and sparse, haunting piano line, Jer Martin’s Ten Minutes to Midnight is one of those tracks that recall a number of others - the problem being that you can’t remember precisely which others. (The first that came to mind in my case was Kyau & Albert’s remix of Cressida’s 6AM.)
But don’t fear: This is no knockoff, but more of the complex, uplifting, polished stuff that is Anjunabeats stock-in-trade, complete with the blissed-out breakdown and plenty of filter movement leading up to the beat drop. The 7Skies remix sticks in the brain maybe because the opening arpeggio calls to mind Chicane’s genre-defining Saltwater. Both are just right for a mid-set lift.
