Oliver Huntemann - PLAY! 03 EP

In celebration of the third installment of his Play! mix compilation series, German techno wizard Oliver Huntemann has released a two-tracker entitled PLAY! 03 EP on his Ideal Audio label. 

Featured on disc 1 of the compilation, NYC (Keep On Playing) is a dark and rolling affair propelled by crisp minimal tech beats and driving synth riffs. The precise, effective FX and robotic vocal snippets further enhance the hypnotic flavour, whilst at the same time injecting more momentum to the dynamic groove. 

On the flip Decks And The City possesses an eerie and more melodic feel through the interplay of the trippy, ominous pads and the loopy synth leads. The slightly housey percussions beneath manage to not only enrich the progression but also motor it persistently in the sinister technoid soundscape. 

Crafted with the dark themes and clinical arrangements that he is well known for, the EP is another illustration of Huntemann’s unique style. A nice package to accompany the mix compilation indeed.
