Double D - Evil Without Reason

Instead, the boys from the Midlands show they can mix it with the best that European hardstyle has to offer, with the news of support from the mighty Proteus being the latest DJ to support this track.
Starting with a fairly standard kick interceded with some really cool little fills, it adds bass kicks and a wicked sample from Malcolm McDowell from the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween. After the intro beats is a mini breakdown, that builds up really well, and just as you think it’s going to start with the bass, it goes back to a break again. Still gets me every time!

When the bass does come in its nice and nasty, although it doesn’t last long before the main breakdown starts. This is where this track goes from good to great. The use of the sample (both unedited and filtered/distorted), the eerie piano like loops, and the pace change which works a treat. When it finally drops after the break, if it doesn’t destroy the floor then you’re clearly in the wrong club! My only gripe would be that it spends a bit too much time in one breakdown or another, but it’s good enough for Proteus, then it’s certainly good enough for me!
