The 25th release of the InFiné imprint sees its chief Agoria continue to deliver his own brand of sophisticated house and techno.
Mingling the clean, precise edginess of techno and the melodic, emotive unfolding of house, Grande Torino features neat, punchy percussions, as well as interweaving of warm and fluid synth layers which subtly grow and complexify. Yet it is the organic and resonating violins, which join in around halfway through the progression, that lift the track to another level. When they take over the main breakdown, the sonic vibration and resonance are so overwhelming that they render an epic quality for the piece and drag the listener to another space.
Again the strings play an important role on For One Hour, which couple with the melancholic vocal by Scalde finely. The track sustains the lush and classy feel of Grande Torino whilst taking a slower, moodier direction, with bits of emotive ups and downs to shape a deep and dreamy soundscape.
Atmospheric and refined, this is an exquisite 2-tracker by the French artist, and it certainly makes his upcoming LP (due out this autumn) even more eagerly anticipated.
