Super8 & Tab feat. Jan Burton - Mercy

In advance of their forthcoming artist album Empire, Finnish duo Super 8 & Tab go down a more vocal anthem path teaming up with Jan Burton, the former Syntax singer who has also worked with Gabriel and Dresden.
With a typical no-nonsense kick and a bleepy little melody, the extended mix wastes no time in bursting into life. Edgy, energetic synths keep the tempo up and are nicely contrasted by Burton’s gravelly vocals, but we’ll have to wait and see if this has what it takes to become a floor favourite. There’s also a dub mix for those who don’t want the full vocals, plus there’s a radio edit for anyone in a hurry.
Andy Duguid provides a lurking, progressive rework with lots of low resolution effects, tribal beats, a shuffling bass and zany electro style riffs while the vocal is used sparingly. Italian newcomer 7 Skies, David Boldini, turns in a rocking remix with a groovy bass that underpins the track, with lots of techy touches accompanying the core melodies and vocals.
