Following his previous releases on the label, German DJ/producer André Winter has returned to Oliver Huntemann’s Ideal Audio imprint with
Magma, yet another quality dark techno single.
As expected, this 2-tracker from the Hamburg-based artist is filled with an ominous tech vibe rendered from edgy and clinical arrangements. Title track Magma is a deep affair driven by loopy bubbling synth tones and crisp rolling minimal tech beats atop a relentlessly rumbling bassline. Hollow and hypnotic, it’s a good tension-builder indeed.
On the flip Drama is, as its name suggests, a bit more dramatic and intense whilst still retaining the dark and menacing feel. The swift movements of the melodic synth riffs are coupled well with the tasty sci-fi FX, injecting a fair amount of momentum into the EP.
After Sebrok made a nice debut on the label with the Out In Miami EP, it’s nice to see Winter return with another deep and finely crafted single here - it’s a very Ideal release and fans of the label should be happy once again.
