Another month and another
Fabric Live mix compilation to chart the direction in which the underground rolls – and this time it’s the solid gold touch of
Ramadanman-cum-Pearson Sound, who surprisingly offers a journeyed mix on the wing of the series that’s usually reserved for tearing, abusive wobbling dubstep and drum and bass.

Instead, on
FARBICLIVE 56, we’re treated to a techy, ethereal and progressive mix that from the offset screams intelligence, thoughtfulness and a boundary pushing voyage that doesn’t concern itself with risk, genre rigidity and even logical, standard coherence. Full of textures, analog soaked instruments, and all glowing with warmth, each track appears to have been carefully selected and for many reasons other than mixing credentials and similarities between the tracks.

There’s even room for some staunch classics such as Pinch’s
Qawwali, A Made Up Sound’s percussion fest in
‘Demons’ and much sought after tracks like Joy. O and Ram’s own
‘J.Doe Them’. It’s all snappy, stomping timbres, balanced amongst the wood-block laced atmospherics in the mix, adding a touch of intelligence and panache to a diverse hour-long mix. Bristol’s golden boy is on solid form at the moment and this mix is original and dynamic in its flow an execution.
