'Turn the Page' by Craggz and Parallel has already been praised throughout the scene and featured on Andy C's'Nightlife' compilation - so any remix effort would not be taken lightly. For this highly anticipated release, Need for Mirrors keep all of the parts that made the original so interesting, and add some of their own flair. Boasting the same thick atmosphere and quirky sound effects, the remix has all the hallmarks of the original, but with a menacing new bassline that is vintage Need For Mirrors. When combined with the already mysterious atmosphere, and an added dash of interspersed vocals, you have a package that is more than equal to it's predecessor.
'Future Shock', gets a going over by Metalheadz man Jubei. Unlike the original (a strong, chilled roller), this remix is transformed from the original's subdued feel into a dark-dancefloor number, with gruesome bass and eerie sound effects setting the mood. All in addition to Jubei's usual percussive flair, sporting an almost tribal like beat comprised of bright snares and hard kicks, and the reformed vocals of the original which have been given a rugged transformation.
Another great 12' from Product, this tidy package proves a well-thought out remix can certainly do justice to the original - or sometimes - surpass it.
