A lovely 3-track EP of bubbly, Minus-flecked techno from these Italian bods that celebrates Marc Romboy’s label’s half-century. Papini was responsible for the monstrous Church Of Nonsense this summer, but this EP shows he’s just as adept at understatement as he is at overstatement.
Ardeur is the warmest of the three, chugging along with hollow percussion trickling over the murky waves of under-defined bass that grumble away subtly – more bounce to the ounce on this one. Physical is straight out of a funky Hawtin set, with its stomach churning, undulating b-line, tape delayed “get physical” vocal all sexy and seductive, and soft, otherworldly melodies gently bubbling away in the background. Softeur rounds things off in a deeper vein, still bubbly and bouncy, but less vicious in the leg-moving department.
