Nutty T - Intensify The Treatment

Undoubtedly the fastest rising Hardstyle producer in the UK, Nutty T has another gem of a Hardstyle monster for us. Starting with a combination of claps, snares and what sounds like a chopped and sped up alarm seems to give this tune a sense of urgency before the kick shows up after 4 whole phrases. The break is a kind of if-hardstyle-used-trance-pads-with-hardstyle-noises sequence which surprisingly sounds better than it should do by all means. For my money this is Nutty T’s best work for sometime and so far has had massive reactions when played out. Support from all the big Hardstyle DJs as well as a top 10 stop in the trackitdown.net charts within a week of release means I can see this one getting cained for quite some time to come.

On remix duties are the Hardbassrockerz (yes that is supposed to be one word, and Microsoft word is not impressed either!). Starting with a gabba like distorted kick but at a reasonable speed, it goes into a mini break within 30 seconds before attacking you with a chopped version of the riff and a pounding kick. It’s all going swimmingly up until just after the 3 minute mark, after a superbly done breakdown intro and a solid build, it needlessly begins to speed up but just ends up sounding like it was done using a CDJ 800. It pretty much ruins any momentum it had gained along with the way and seems to be the musical definition of shooting oneself in the foot. The kick then changes to one with even more bass and then goes and repeats on itself at least twice more. Once it’s done the solid kick and decent sounding synth return, but it’s too late by then. Even the chilling screams it the background can’t save this from being seemingly overcooked. Almost as rubbish at their name, but not quite…
