Fedde Le Grand dons his underground moniker for two slices of “tech house” here, with differing success. Lead track Amplified is pretty horrible – a mess of buzzy electro leads and hardstyle / jumpstyle percussion, and is best avoided.
HowEVER, Pink Bird on the flip is one of the best tech house tracks we’ve heard in a while. Sprightly, jaunty, bouncy, cheeky, infectious, it’s lead by dainty little synth stabs, a shuffling, galloping groove, and a simple but hipshaking bassline. Dash in some subtle, rasping, metallic synth rhythms and keep the percussive elements chopping in and out, and you’ve got an absolutely delicious groove. Essential.
