Since setting up Spearhead Records in 2005, BCee has gone on to release tracks by some of the most cutting edge producers in the D&B business, men of the moment - Lomax, Lenzman, L.A.O.S, Alix Perez and S.P.Y. His Generations EP is another fine addition to the already prestigious Spearhead catalogue, and will not disappoint.
BCee evidently knows exactly what he’s doing here. For starters, getting Logistics involved in any shape or form can only be a good thing for a D&B track. Getting him on the remix duties for what is already a superb and highly acclaimed tune…well, you’re on to a winner aren’t you?
Consumed is just such a track. We loved it when it first came out a few months ago. As the second track of the Generations EP, the Logistics remix links the gentle rolling breaks, warm bass and sonorous vocals of the eponymous track of the title, Generations, and the harsher, thumping beats and rougher, chunky bite of Glitter Balls.
Finishing up with a bass-heavy Diagnosis Murder, featuring the aforementioned, S.P.Y, who brings a trademark trippiness and twisted synthetic touch to the tune, The Generations EP is an absolute stunner. Rolling along, with a few horn riffs and rippling guitar chords to lead into a second vocal-led drop, Diagnosis Murder acts as a lovely artistic flourish to the EP as a whole.
With tight production, innovative sounds and beautifully balanced tunes, this EP shows skilled master craftsman, BCee well on his way.
