Friday 5th April, 2013: X presents Kate Simko, Alexis Raphael, Simon Baker

A new series comes to London as X marks the spot between Berlin and Ibiza both musically and cosmetically. With DJs such as Kate Simko getting her start stateside alongside Matthew Dear, Ryan Elliott, and the Spectral Sound crew, Kate has quietly, yet consistently, established herself as one of dance music’s rising stars. A diverse musician, Kate’s projects range from remixing Philip Glass, to composing film scores, to rocking jackin’ DJ sets, and producing her melodic, Chicago-flavoured take on house and techno. Alongside Kate is Alexis Raphael who ever since his mum bought him a tape from Our Price in 1990, featuring Future Sound of London’s seminal hardcore track ‘Papa New Guinea’, music took over his life. Standard, you might say. But while cutting his teeth at d&b and jungle raves during his teens, growing up in Camden and mixing acid house on his first pair of 1200s, it became obvious Alexis’ path would be to perfect the party. To see these and more get you tickets now.
