This spring sees the Barbican hosts a range of events that meet at the intersection of electronica, sound art and audio visual manipulation. James Holden and Marcus du Sautoy combine electronic experimentalism with neuroscientific concepts; Ryoji Ikeda returns to the Barbican to present his latest display of music, art and technology; and The Light Surgeons bring their blend of striking visual manipulation and live music. Thus for the more pioneering electronic audience it seems to be a smorgasbord of education and passion as some of electronic music’s most coveted figures explore and blur the outer boundaries of what makes music so appealing and with the ever developing rise of ‘live’ shows these experimental events aren’t to be missed.
