Label: Air Drop
This is an absolute belter, courtesy of Nail, who you may know better as Neil Tolliday of Bent fame. Sometimes in slow mo, sometimes up all the way at 120 bpm, sometimes lush and warm but always, always trippy. It's like a combination of classic Moodymann and modern-day Cottam, which is no bad thing.
You can really hear that Moodymann-esque, quirky repetition in 'Fucked Off' on the B-side, followed by Balearic delirium in 'Ok Coral' and 'Blueberry Pill'.
Seems a bit rude to pick out individual tracks in this one though - as every one left me deeply impressed, although not in the sense of composition… this is mostly about the ingenious use of samples, as you might expect from one half of Bent. He's still got it!
