Label: Hospital Records
Release Date: 25th February
Nu:Tone and Logistics drop the precursor to their forthcoming LP on Hospital Records under their Nu:Logic alias, Morning Light. Despite it being February it's a slice of sublime summer vibes to warm even the darkest of winter days.
Morning Light is, quite simply, beautifully crafted drum and bass. Twinkling piano keys and acoustic guitar licks all wrapped up with the warmest and catchy of stand up bass b-lines. Add to that a wonderful female vocal and you've pretty much got all the ingredients for a tune that brings sheer musicality to your eardrums and it's one I've found myself repeatedly listening to since it landed in my inbox. Rolling and melodic in equal measure, a perfect combo.
To make sure things don't get too emo however, Grizzly takes the script and flips it. The conga rides on the intro set things up before some epic horns are brought in to signal the arrival of a drop into a half time monster of a tune which, admittedly, I wasn't expecting, showing the brothers Gresham can do nice and nasty in equal measure.
Two contrasting tracks and a perfect appetite wetter for an album that, on the basis of this single, should be more than pretty good. A fully deserving single of the week for Nu:Logic and the Hospital crew.
