Next month will see Kyle Hall release his highly anticipated first full length debut album The Boat Party on his own Wild Oats label. Since his bursting onto the scene way back in 2007 to show that Detroit still remains a hotbed of electronic talent all these years after the first and second waves of the Motor City’s artists dominated the techno landscape for nigh on a decade, few in the scene have had a rise a meteoric as Kyle Hall. Having been releasing successful EP’s for the past 6 years since FXHE it is has became a big question as to why in that period the jazz infused techno artist has been yet to offer up his debut album earlier.
But good things come to those who wait and in the same month we learned of Jimpster’s planned new LP we were excited to hear the last 12 months of solid work and collaborations Kyle has been putting in the studio will start to pay dividends for his fans with a release imminent on his imprint Wild Oats. With further collaborative releases to come with stars such as Funkieven and Kero as well as shining a spotlight on upcoming label mates it appears the Detroit native has big plans for 2013. Described as a “fusion of original work, sample tracks, and raw edits” it’s certainly a release we’re looking forward. Hopefully we won’t have to wait 6 years for the sequel!
