Nicholas "Chicane" Bracegirdle has revealed how Welsh ladies favourite Tom Jones saved him from a fight at a legendary London jazz club after they collaborated together on their track Stoned In Love.
"We'd done the Stoned In Love single on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross that day and went to Ronnie Scott's and got battered" he recalls. "I got into an altercation with a guy at the bar and I slapped him. Then all his mates jumped on me. It turned out they were with Jude Law. Then my band and Tom Jones pulled them off me and Tom and I got thrown out."
He also revealed his hatred for most chart music ("I don't understand what the fuss is about Sam Sparro. Duffy - that stuff's been done before and done better. Basshunter - all those chav dance records - I can't stand them. They make me laugh. It's banal, lowest-common demoninator stuff.") and revealed the most unusual place he's heard his music ("There was a point a few years ago when underground dance tracks were used on Gardener's' World all the time")
His greatest hits collection is out next week, and Bruised Water - a mash-up of Saltwater and Natasha Beddingfield's I Bruise Easily - is out now.
