Self-styled Detroit electronic funksters Detroit Grand Pubahs return this October with a new album, Nuttin Butt Funk.
Best known for their kooky breakthrough hit Sandwiches back in 2001 ("I know you wanna do it...you know I wanna do it too...yeah we can make sandwiches" etc), their eccentric blend of techno, electro, funk and ghettotech makes for an interesting listen, and Steve Bug's long-running love saw him release their Galatic Ass Creatures From Uranus album on his Poker Flat label, with remixes from Martin Landsky and Phonique amongst others.
The new album features charming titles such as Earth Hoes, Butt Market and Condom-Mints and is out on their own Det.Ele.Funk label on October 6th. They have also been supplying guest vocals for the likes of The Advent and Marc Romboy recently.
