Nas has added his name to a petition against racism on American TV channel Fox News, and will join organisers ColorOfChange.org and MoveOn.org when it is delivered to the US TV network's head office in New York today. The petition has gained over 600,000 signatures, following various dubious comments made on Fox about presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.
Amongst the slurs listed on the petition are the description of Michelle Obama as "Obama's baby mama", a Fox anchor calling a 'fist bump' the pair gave each other "a terrorist fist jab", and Fox's Bill O'Reilly suggesting setting a "lynching mob" on Mrs Obama.
MoveOn.org said: "Fox must stop injecting racism, prejudice, and fear into our political dialogue. We intend to hold Fox, its advertisers, and its personalities accountable for Fox's attempts to smear the Obamas".
