Duke Dumont has revealed that he's remixed a track by hip-hop legends EPMD, which will be included on a CD that comes free when you buy a Toyota car in the US. Only thing is, he hasn't said which track it is.
Speaking on his MySpace blog, he said that he kept it as a hip-hop beat based track ("It's EPMD, it would have been sacrilegious not too") and that "an epic club mix wouldn't have be practical" given where the track will mostly be listened to.
"I wanted to call it "The Duke Dumont (Its too orangey for crows) Remix" , because its got a similar groove to the Kia-Ora advert from the '80s, and because I threw in the sound of a crow as a Redman homage, but I'm guessing they didnt air that advert in the US, so I didn't." Genius! It's high-time that banging tune got reworked - especially after Sam Hudson (I think it was) remixed the Umbongo tune in a hard dance stylee a few years back.
He's also inviting vocalists to send in their demos for the instrumental version, which he owns the rights to (as it's an original composition). Again, only problem is he hasn't uploaded it yet...still recovering from the weekend are we?
