Liverpool’s electro outfit Ladytron have revealed that they’re to release a ‘Best Of’ compilation before they put out a new album, following on from working with a certain Christina Aguilera on her new album.
"We've got some ideas about what we want to do about the next album, but I think first we're going to release a 'Best of Ladytron'" the band’s Reuben Wu told Spinner.co.uk "Since we've done four albums, I think it would be time to put something like that together." Well, if you say so. What’s the point though, really? In this day and age when anyone can download exactly the tracks they want from a band’s relatively short career, is it necessary? Call us old fashioned, but we think Greatest Hits collections should be saved for artists with long, great careers. Anyhooo… They will release the album in spring 2010, with special artwork that they’ve made for their live shows to be incorporated. "We were able to put a lot of visual stuff we amassed over the years, which would be very interesting to [old] fans, and new fans," Wu explained. "Since we've been working with Christina [Aguilera], I think a lot of new audiences out there will want to know about us."
