Empire Of The Sun to ‘reunite’?
After all that brouhaha and kerfuffle and indeed shilly-shallying, it seems that Empire Of The Sun frontman Luke Steele won’t record another such album without his collaborators from this year’s masterful opus.
Picking up an award at the recent ARIA Awards in Australia, he referred to “Invisible Nick” – presumably calling him thus following his AWOLness of recent months – but he revealed to website InTheMix that he hasn’t shut any doors.
“He’s still a part of it, and the journey continues really,” Steele said to them on the subject of Littlemore. “The whole ‘movie’ of Empire has been written in real time you know, so there has to be another scene, really.” He added that the supposed disagreements with Sneaky Sound System man Donnie Sloan, who co-wrote many of the tracks of the album, was a “tsunami in a tea cup”.
“It’s all been done pretty honestly as far as how everything went down with credit and who did what. It’s always been pretty open that Donnie was a big part of it, along with Peter Mayes” Mayes is another member of Littlemore’s other band Pnau, who was also a part of the Empire Of The Sun album. “I mean, to get that sound it just needs to be everyone. You can’t buy that kind of chemistry at Wal-Mart; it’s pretty rare.” Good thing he’s realised that he won’t get the same vibe without them.
Now about those live shows! Can you bring them over here please? They’ve got more Australian dates planned as below, but nothing other than that.
