Roulé: it’s not over

Anyone who has a serious love of house music should know about Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter’s gone but not forgotten Roulé imprint. It brought the world Music Sounds Better With You, introduced a generation to US house heroes like Roy Davis Jnr. and Romanthony, and launched the career of Alan Braxe. And some guy called DJ Falcon, who we’ve just been speaking to exclusively ahead of his performance at Kitsuné Maison at Heaven in London on Easter Sunday 4th April.

We asked him while Bangalter and his Daft Punk partner Guy-Manuel decided to shut down their vinyl labels (Guy-Man owned the excellent Crydamoure) – as Falcon’s first EP, Hello My Name Is DJ Falcon was released on Roulé – and he told us that Roulé is in fact, not officially finished. Although Crydamoure is.

“Roulé is not officially over” he revealed to us. “It’s not finished. Crydmoure, yeah, but Roulé is still on…there’s nothing really playing on it, but it’s not over. So maybe one day…because Thomas and Roulé was all about surprising people…so you never know what to expect from Thomas, which is good. But officially, Roulé is still on.” Full interview coming this week.

Damn exciting stuff we reckon. If you don't know about this legendary label, educate yourself with a few of their classics below:
