This release from former Urban Torque and Plastic City artist Ric McClelland or Scope as he prefers, is an absolute corker.
Itstarts off with the ever-ubiquitous conga led percussion of many a deep house track, but takes no time at all in raising it's standards by dropping sexy vocal refrains, lush strings and a very understated bass pattern which gives this track that all important groove. This Rhythm is full of soul and spirituality, lacking in a lot of house music these days.
Hamburg based producers, and a pair to keep an eye out for, Florian Kruse & Nils Nurnberg up the tempo just a notch on their remix, but just enough so as not to detract from the smoothness of the original. A more tribal groove and chugging drums make for a very complementary remix.
NRK's very own Nick Harris takes things down a more jacking route with tougher kick drums and a more peak time pace, but like the remix before, managing to keep the feel of the original alive by using the strings to good effect.
If NRK decide to wait another year to release a track again, and it is to this standard then so be it, as it will be worth the wait.
