After delivering a blinding 3-tracker of sparse, euphoric electro for Tiga’s Turbo imprint, and an EP with fellow Belgian types Spiritcatcher for 20:20 Vision, Compuphonic steps up his game and twists the synth heavy sound of that EP into something lighter, warmer, and obviously housier given that it’s on Jimpster’s Freerange Recordings.
The sprightly, springy lead line synth evokes memories of old skool house with its fizzing, gently soulful timbre and jaunty rhythm, and with a throbbing, juicy bassline mimicking its on-beat bounce, and very subtle, skippy hi-hat patterns, it makes for a gorgeous little stomper. A twinkling, trance-lite arpeggio from the mid ‘90s tops this happy, thuddy track off. Imagine Spiritcatcher with more of a roll to their groove and you’re basically there.
